Aboriginal Culture

Aboriginal culture is retained by providing children and youth with opportunities to participate in cultural activities and events, primarily in the Edmonton region, but also out of the area if it meets the client’s approval. Examples include: social gatherings (powwows, round dances, Aboriginal festivals – music, film), workshops, conferences, out-of-school activities, language instruction, Friendship Centre activities (sports, arts and crafts), and Aboriginal summer camps.
